The railway sector represents the company's flagship production of LEF Group.
LEF designs and develops different high-tech products and systems for management of Smart City, Railway Lines, high-speed lines included, and Tunnel Safety. The production includes also different types of products that see their use in the electric substations.
Among the main innovative solutions there are remote management devices and systems, which use the Power Line Communication (PLC), that allows the distribution of digital signals with information content on existing electricity grids, thus avoiding the use of specific wiring systems and costly investments, in economic and environmental terms, to achieve them. A state-of-the-art technology, a big opportunity on which LEF, on par with other big industrial groups such as RFI, has believed and invested. Since two years ago the Group has been part of the Alliance G3PLC, an international consortium with the main players in the world of Smart Grids. From joining the G3PLC Alliance, in the various international meetings held in Paris, Amsterdam, Vienna and Florence, LEF has successfully promoted the creation of a certification platform for the G3PLC protocol in the CENELEC B frequency band (95 KHz - 125 KHz) dedicated to use in civil-industrial applications by customers of energy providers. Thanks to the support of the Alliance G3PLC, and the technological partners that joined it, in February 2019 days LEF had been the first company in the world to have certified a device compliant with the G3PLC protocol in B band opening the way for use of this technology in civil and industrial applications.
